Description: Eileen Woods is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a private counseling practice in Huntingdon, PA. She helps riders overcome their fear and worries about horseback riding. Whether the rider has experienced a scary event such as a fall or bolt or is afraid to canter, Eileen uses a proven technique called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to overcome these fears. This technique can also be used to help a rider learn new skills, such as jumping. Eileen is not a riding instructor, but focuses on the riders emotional reactions that interfere with riding. Sessions needed to overcome fears and worries range from 2 to 5 hours depending on the level of worry and/or skill that needs mastered. Often an onsite visit is needed to completely resolve an emotional issue.
